This costume was special because it was made in a unique way. I wanted to find an affordable, easy, and sustainable way to make dragon scale armor. My solution was to use old allumium cans to create the scales. Instead of having to cut the scales one by one, I discovered that the aluminum was thin enough to use a paper cutter. These scales were then hand sewn onto a bra.
The staff was also a really fun build. It was made from a tree branch I found in my yard that I then used a heat gun to burn marks. To create the branches I wrapped the branch in aluminum foil and then went over it with hot glue. I used a garden glass dome filled with fairy lights to make the lightup top. The whole thing was then painted with acrylics.
This costume ended up winning second place at the costume contest.
