My Junior year of undergrad I participated in the University of Texas at Arlington pitch contest MavPitch. I placed in the first round and then won second place in the finals.
I created a renaissance dress (pictured to the left) for the thespian festival. I made mainstage the highest honor at the Texas thespian festival, and then medaled at nationals. The costume construction contest works by having you pick a pattern and create a garment for under a hundred dollars. The garment is then judged based on construction quality.

My senior year of high school I was chosen as one of the national students of the month for Jostens Renaissance. Jostens Renaissance is a national organization that creates leadership course and conferences for students.
The neighborhood I grew up in published an article about my sewing in their monthly magazine. I was the cover story and it was delivered to all the residents of the neighborhood.
I created an evil sorceress costume for the Texas Renaissance festival. Texas Ren Fest is the largest renaissance festival in the United states. I place second in the school day costume contest, where students from all over Texas traveled to compete.
